Selection Tool
Additional Files:
Almathera: A Puddle
Mura Meister: Pole Transform
Description: Create a beautiful pair of Angel wings. Loosely based on this tutorial by Sandra Bonello of Design in Reflection.
My reasons for recreating this tut is because the MuRa' Pole Transform was no longer working properly for the newer versions. Also, most Newbies would have problems erasing evenly enough to have a great pair of wings when they were finished.
1. Open a New Image set up like this:
2. Click on the Paint Brush arrow in the lower right corner and find the Particle Tool in the list.
Click on the Preset for the Particle tool and find the Particle String preset in the list.
Now choose a color you like. When you do, the Preset will go back to saying None, but the preset has been activated none the less. Now fill your whole image with this string of colors any way at all. Squiggly lines are probably the best. :)
3. Click on the Selection Tool: Ellipse, check the Fixed size and set the dimensions to 325x225px, Soft Edge 15 like so.
Click the upper left corner of your image to apply the selection. It won't matter if it's off center a little as long as the whole selection is on the image with some room to spare on all sides.
4. Now Find the Almathera filter under Effects and apply these settings.
5. Rclick, Align, Center Both.
Select Effects, MuRa's Meister: Pole Transform filter and apply the settings below.
6. Deselect your object (In v.10 select your background object.) and select the Bucket Fill tool. Flood fill your background with white.
7. Select the Path tool and find the Custom Shape: Raindrop. Draw a 2D, White raindrop 80x265px. Resize to these dimensions if you need to. Rclick, Align: Center Horizontally.
8. Select the Pick tool and Align: Top. Select the Path tool and turn the Mode to Selection.
Rclick and Soften:10px.
9. Select your wing object, and hit your Delete key once. You should now have this.
10. Rclick, choose 'None' over your selected area. Deselect your wing object (in v.10 click on your background object in the Layer Manager.).
Teardrop 2
1. Draw another teardrop this time 2D, White, 80x160px, Resize if you need to.
Center: Horizontally, Transform tool: Flip Upside Down. With the Pick tool Align: Bottom .
2. Turn the Mode to Selection. Rclick, Soften:10px. Select your wing object and hit the Delete key '3 times'. Rclick over selected area and choose None. Your angel wings are finished. Save one last time.
Thank you for trying my tutorial. I hope you have enjoyed yourself. :)
Make it a Tube
Make sure everything is the way you want it to be, and click on the Eye at the top of the Layer Manager to hide the background, and Save it as a .psd (PhotoShop file) This is the same type of file as a .tub/psp as it keeps the transparent background. :)
