Description: Create a shiny highlight over objects.
Orb
Open a New White Image, 300x300px set up like this:
With the Path Tool, 2D, color white, draw a circle. Rclick, Align, Center both. Save!
Click on the color box in the top menu and choose Gradient. Pick one light and one dark color of the same color scheme.
Rclick, Duplicate the orb and change back to 2D, white.
Click on the Resize tool and "Lock" the dimensions so you resize both dimensions at the same time. Resize your orb to look similar to this or so the bottom end of your orb is just below the highlighted center of your colored orb below it.
Now unlock the "Lock" so you can move the resize handles freely. Take the bottom handle and move it upward so you have an oval. Bring it up to just about even with the highlighted center.
Pull the side handles out so your white orb covers more of the top sides.
Rclick and center Horizontally. Place your orb so you can see just a pixel or two of the color underneath "above" your white orb.
Fade Effect
Click on Edit, Fade-out in the menu above. Check the activation square and set it up like this.
Click on the Preview button to check out your new highlight. Click OK if you like what you see. Click on Continue if you would like to try different settings. There is a small amount of adjustment here so play a bit to find a darker or lighter setting you like. You never know what kind of ideas you'll get by checking out these settings. :) Save! You are finished.
Make it a Tube
Make sure everything is the way you want it to be and R-click, Select all, Merge as Single Object.
Click on the Eye at the top of the Layer Manager to hide the background, and Save it as a .psd (PhotoShop file) This is the same type of file as a .tub/psp as it keeps the transparent background. :)
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
