Description: Create a pretty Daisy Flower.

Flower Petals

Open a New White Image, 400x400px set up like this:

With the Path tool, Raindrop Shape, 2D, draw a drop 50x90px.

Click on the Path Edit mode and edit the shape by pulling the bottom node downward and widen the top end like this.

Go to the Material Gallery in your Easy Pallet (EP), Gel and give it one of the colors. I used G13.

Rclick and choose the Shadow option near the bottom of the list. This is too heavy so we need to lighten it. Change the Transparency to 80 and OK.

Rclick, Align, Center Horizontally and use your keyboard "down" arrow to move it down and keep it in the center of your image.

Click on the Transform tool, Rotate Freely icon. Set the Rotate by Degrees to 45, set Copy Rotate to Clockwise, and set the Rotate Center to Top-Right like this.

Click on this button to copy and rotate your flower petals until you get back around to the first petal. Now, you may have to adjust the degrees somewhat depending on the width of your petal. If the gap is too wide between petals "lower" the 45 to 43 or even lower. Use your judgment on the amount of gap you want to see. Just hit the Undo button till you get the right space between your first two petals. Then click on the Copy Rotate button and continue adding your petals.

Wasn't that fun! ;))) Rclick and Select All, Group, Rclick, Align. Center Both. Use your 'up' arrow key to move it up near the top of your image. Deselect All.

Flower Center

Path tool, Shape Spikes1, draw a flower center in 3D 70x70px. You may keep it the same color or change it now to another color. I changed to G07. Rclick Align, Center Horizontally and arrow key it up to the center of your flower.

In the Material box click on the Border/Depth tab and move the sliding lever all the way up to 99, click on the Smooth Spline - in. Click on the Lights Tab and turn it down to 3 and click ok. You now have this flower center.

Stem

Click on the Line & Arrow tool, Spline, 3D, Gel green color. I used G10.
Draw a slightly wavy line around 230px long along side of your flower head down the length of your image.

Open the Panel if it's not alredy open and change the Border to 3-5px, your choice. I used 5px. Rclick, Align, Center Horizontally.

Click on the Edit button and at the end of your stem pull the line of the node straight down in the same direction as your flower end is going to get a rounded end like so.

Rclick, Arrange, Send to Back. Rclick, Shadow, Transparency 80, ok. Deselect. Save (ufo) :)

Leaves

Path tool, Wave1, draw a leaf 115x90. Use your Transform tool (unlocked) if you can't get it to size. Line it up with the opposite side of the stem like so. Change the Shadow with this part also.

Duplicate the leaf, Flip Horizontally with the Transform tool icon. Move this piece down below the first one on the opposite side of the stem like so. Feel free to make one larger or slanted upward more than the other with your Transform tools. Your basic flower is finished. You may leave it this way or make a few touch ups below. Save.

Touch Ups!

Save with a new name or 1 at the end of your flower name, because after this you can no longer change colors or edit your parts.

Click on your flower petals, Rclick, Merge as Single Object.

Click on the Retouch tool, Blur set at 20/50/50. Smooth the seam or crease you see in your petals. Try not to hit the middle as it will remove the light color and shine. Deselect.

Click on your flower center. Rclick Change Object Type/From Text/Path to Image, and just tap in the center to remove the edges that are there. If yours doesn't have them Kewl, forget this step. :)

Click on a leaf, Change Object Type, and smooth the seam out of all your leaves, one at a time. Try not to hit the middle as it will remove the shine. Save one last time and you are finished!

To Make it a Tube

Make sure everything is the way you want it to be and R-click, Select all, Merge as Single Object.

Click on the Eye at the top of the Layer Manager to hide the background, and Save it as a .psd (PhotoShop file) This is the same type of file as a .tub/psp as it keeps the transparent background. :)

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
