Description: Create a beautiful note card with trimmings.
This is part five or the final tutorial for my floral note card.
Images have been reduced for faster loading pages.
Download and import my note card preset to your EP.
Create the above tutorials for the instructions listed below.
If you have not created the accompanying tutorials needed to create this tutorial you will only be able to do the card itself, and the alternate 2-Minute Rose instructions using my presets.
Card
1. New Image, white, set up like below.
2. Path tool, Rectangle, 3D Round, Color any, draw a rectangle near the center of your canvas 380x240 px. Locate my note card preset and click twice to apply.
3. Duplicate. With the Transform tool, Slant, grab the bottom center handle and move it to the right just a bit. Now with your keyboard up arrow key move it up a bit. Move it to the left 1 pixel. You need to keep that top left corner covered.
Select both pieces and use the Transform tool, Rotate by Degree, 14 degrees to the left. Select the top card only, and use the Brightness and Contrast to lighten just a bit.
4. Open your fabric bow ufo file. Select all the pieces except for the two upward turned ribbons and Rclick, group. Edit, Copy, click on your note card image and Edit, Paste. Close the bow ufo file.
5. Rclick, ungroup the pieces of your bow. Select all but the two ribbons. Rclick, Merge as Single Object.
Use the Transform tool, Resize, (lock is locked) to resize. Type 460 in your Width dimension box. Select this piece and the two wide ribbons and Rclick, Send to Back.
Grab the ribbon on the left and pull it out and down and rotate up to about this position below. Grab the right one pull it down and rotate it up just a little bit like so.
6. Select the bow, Duplicate. Transform tool-locked, put 365 in the Width box. Move down and to the right a bit just off center with your large bow.
Grab the left ribbon and Duplicate. Rotate the right side down till it's horizontal and the bottom is straight with the card.
Unlock the dimensions lock and put 285 in the Width box and 168 in the Height box.
In the Layer Manager drag the ribbon below your bow.
Select the bow and Rotate the right side down so it looks similar to below. Adjust these two pieces so that the ribbon is under the knot where it should be or at least the bottom right corner of the ribbon is hidden from view.
7. Select the left ribbon you just adjusted if it's not already selected, and Duplicate. Flip horizontally and slide over to the right.
Transform tool, Rotate freely, grab the center rotation wheel and move it to the upper left corner. Rotate the right side of the ribbon downward so it mostly lines up with the ribbon below it. Drag and drop it under the bow from the Layer Manager or Rclick, Arrange, Send Backward.
8. Adjust the bow and ribbons so that it looks similar to this diagram.
9. Add this black shadow to the two bows and ribbons.
10. Open your green leaf sprig. If you made two of them, select the bottom one, Copy and Paste it to your note card image.
Duplicate it, and flip it upside down. Move it to the left a bit.
Select both green sprigs, Duplicate. Resize these pieces together to Width 196 px. Flip them horizontally and upside down, and move into place like shown below one at a time.
Select them both and drop them down below the two bigger sprigs to hide their stem ends. Merge each sprig as a single object if it is only grouped, and add the shadow above to all four pieces.
11. Open your berry sprig ufo file. Resize-locked original to the Width of 385 px. Copy, and paste it to your note card image.
Move it downward in between the center of your two leaf sprigs on the left side.
Move your whole canvas over to the right side of your workspace. Pull the side of your graphic out on the left (see below).
With the Transform tool, Distort, pull the left top handle up and out to bend the stem upward more than it is.
Add the shadow. You may darken with the Brightness & Contrast, if you like.
If you want to use one of the 2-Minute Roses you created by all means use it now for the near center of your creation. The overall dimensions including leaves is roughly 189x161 px. You may have yours a little bigger or smaller as you see fit. Add a shadow to each leaf and rose object. OR...
ALTERNATE 2-Minute Rose using my Rose Presets.
12. If you want the same pink rose that is in the preview above, create a 2-minute rose using my light pink preset, and use these directions once the rose parts are created. Mine is a bit different because of the pink preset.
When you have your rose parts created with one of my rose presets, move the top (was your bottom circle) of the rose from the bottom to just under the top ring of rose petals (see below). Then select the rose top and the rose petals above it, and click on the Zmerge. Just check the check mark. No numbers added. My rose without leaves is 135x135 px. (Once you use the Zmerge function this part of the rose will always be your top objects. If you add anything else on your own, it will have to be below these two objects.)
13. Use the leaves you created for your other rose(s) or make a new set and place them around your rose. Add a shadow to your first leaf you create, so you don't have to add it to each one separately.
