Description: Create a cute bunny that will peek over any item you wish to add.
My best advice is to stick with the color plan set forth in this tutorial for your first creation. There is a lot of 'tinkering' to do on small parts that need color matching to blend in.
HEAD
1. Open a New Image set up like the image:
2. Give it a name, and Save As a .ufo file.
Click on the Path tool and choose the oval, 2D, color of your choice. I chose this pastel pink color #FFC8FF.
Now draw a oval approximately 125 X 130px around vertically. Rclick, Align, center both.
3. RClick, Convert Image, From Text/Path to Image.
Take the Burn brush - 50-70-100, and burn around the very outside edge lightly. Use just the edge of the brush to catch the outside edge
4. Click on the Paint Brush - 4-60-100. Click the color selector and use this color #EACBEA, if you are going with this color scheme. If you have chosen another color then use a color just a shade or two darker, but with less color than the original color you used for the head.
5. Now select Effect, Creative, Paint On Edges and give it a very light rim.
6. Now select the Dodge brush - 50-20-100, and lightly remove some of the color from the center in a circular shape for the face.
EYES
1. Path tool, make a white oval,3D Round 15 X 18px long. Open the Material box, change the border to 8, and the depth to 30. Move over to your head and Deselect.
2. Change color to black on the Path tool and make an oval 9 X 12px and move it over on top of the white eye part like so.
3. Select both parts of the eyes and Rclick, group. Rclick, Duplicate. Transform tool, flip horizontally and move over into place like so.
Tip: The eyes can make a face or break it. Take some time to play with where you would like the eyes to be. You can make some really funny faces using different positions of the eyes or you can put emotion in the face!
NOSE
1. Working with Zoom 200 helps a lot in this section.
Path tool - circle, 3D, color #FFC8FF, create a 19 X 19 px nose.
Open the Material box and on the right side try to match this light setting as closely as possible. Just put your cursor on it and slide the white spot where it shows below. On the light tab, the Ambient light should be set for 32.
2. Rclick, convert to Image like you did before and click on the Smudge brush, settings - 20-30-50, Horizontal shape and take out the dark shadow on the bottom of the nose by starting in the middle of the nose and dragging the brush downward to smudge the light pink into the dark like so.
3. Paint brush, color #E5D0E5, settings - 20-50-100 (or whatever color that kind of matches the lighter shade after smudging.) and smooth the rest of the shading under the nose. Rim around the barest outside edge all around to just barely darken the outside edge. It's sort of like POE but using the brush edge for a smoother effect.
4. Paint brush, color white, settings - 6-20-100 and paint a white section of the nose for highlight like below.
Resize to 17 X 19, and Center Both. Deselect.
MOUTH
1. Change to the line tool, 3D, color #FFC8FF draw a line under his nose down to his chin. Leave a little space at the bottom.
Open the Path Panel and on the Outline tab change to the settings below.
2. Rclick, Center Horizontally or just move it under the nose in the center and up to the nose like above. Deselect.
CHEEKS
1. Change to the Air brush settings - 30-30-50, color #FF95FF, Mode Paint as Object on.
2. Paint a rosy cheek on your face like so.
Change to the Paint brush - 10-30-100, color white and paint a highlight on your cheek.
4. Duplicate, and move this one to the right. Deselect.
FOOTS :)
1. Change back to the Path tool, 2D, color #FFEAFF create an oval 83 X 67 px.
Click on the Resize tool, Rotate, rotate 50.00 degrees to the right.
2. Click on the Burn tool - 40-50-100, lightly burn around the edges with the edge of the brush. You may have to do this a couple times but try to match what you did with her head.
3. Click on the Dodge tool - 50-50-100 and click down through the center to lighten the middle like so below. Deselect.
4. Change to the Line tool, Spline, 3D, color #EACBEA and create 3 lines to separate the toes on her foot like so using the dash line on 1 px (should be all set up except for color).
5. Paint brush - 4-60-100, color #EACBEA, Effects, Creative, POE around her foot - twice.
6. Group her foot and 3 lines, Duplicate, Resize tool flip horizontally, and move this one over to the other side like so.
HAIRS
1. Select her head alone. Effects, Noise, Add Noise, Options - Varied, setting of 4, 5 or 6, which ever you like best. It's her hairs so it's up to you.
2. Ungroup her feet and choose just the feet themselves, one at a time, add noise to each of them also. You should now have something close to this...
EARS
1. Change to the Path tool, Custom Shape - Brush tip3, color #FFEAFF create an ear 65 X 110 or there about. Resize to 50 X 130px.
2. Flip Vertically, and Rotate 15 degrees to the left. Deselect.
3. Paint brush - 4-20-100, color #EACBEA, Re select her ear and go to Effects, Creative, POE around her ear - twice.
4. Dodge brush - 25-80-100 and go around the outside of her ear 'inside' the POE line like so.
5. Paint brush - 20-30-100, color #FFC8FF, color the center of her ear similar to this.
6. Go to Effects, Noise, Add Noise and give it the same number you gave her hairs above.
7. Rclick, Duplicate, Flip Horizontally, and move it over on her head where you want it to be and arrange them both in a pleasing manor.
Select both ears, Rclick, Group, Align, Center Both.
Rclick, Arrange, Send them both to the back. You are now done with your bunny!
EGG or HEART
1. Path tool Oval, 3D, any color you like, draw a large horizontal oval 315 X 196px. Resize if you want to till you have the size you want. Rclick, Align, Horizontally.
2. If you want, you can change the light source on your egg by opening the Material panel and moving the light to the center or where ever you like it to be. On the light tab you can change the Ambient light to 40 near the bottom.
3. Move it down in your Layer Manager by dragging it till it's under your two bunny feet. Add your shadows to what you want and you are finished! :) Congratulations, I'm sure you have an adorable bunny! :)
Make it a Tube
Make sure everything is the way you want it to be, and click on the Eye at the top of the Layer Manager to hide the background, and Save it as a .psd (PhotoShop file) This is the same type of file as a .tub/psp as it keeps the transparent background. :)
