MAKE A BOW
For PSP 7 and up
1. Open new image 350 x 300 px.
2. Go Edit, Grid. Activate. Then to Edit, Grid Properties and change color of line to Black and 25 px lines both ways.
3. Turn on Draw tool.
A. Set colors Styles like you wish. I am using the red & black pattern style with a black paint outline.
B. Set your Tool Options panel with a 1 line width, a straight line, Point-to-Point and the rest like you see here below.
4. Find the center...6 grid blocks in on each side and 5 down from the top and up from the bottom. This is your center.
A. Put your first click (node) there. Just click on the center to place the node.
5. Now go up to the left and draw this figure you see below. Notice on your first up line to the left it is 1 grid block away from the sides, top, & bottom.
Note: While placing nodes in the center do not re-click any node already placed or you won't get your line and you'll have to start over again. These nodes will be covered up with the bow knot in the center so you have room to move around and stay off the other nodes.

6. When you are finished, click on the arrow tool with the square around it (the object selector) below the shape tool on the bottom left of PSP.
7. On your Tool Options window you will see Node Edit. Click on it so we can curve our lines.
8. On the top Left corner R-click on the node and choose Edit and then Symmetric.
A. Do this to all 4 nodes in the corners.
B. You should now have this diagram or something close to it.
9. Click on the top of the image window or another tool to come out of Edit. You should now have a decent looking bow.
10. Click on Objects in your menu above and then Align, Center in Canvas.
11. Click on the Preset Shapes tool and find the circle. I am using the same set up for colors and patterns so you will have to match yours as well if you want your bow to look good.
A. Set up your Styles and then Make a small oval in the center of your bow.
B. Your Tool Options panel looks like this below.
C. Now, grab it by the center square and move it off your bow. Grab it again and then back on the bow so you can find the center of it by eye.
12. Now you can stop there and keep your bow tie and convert it to Raster and do what ever else you see fit or you can put some ribbons on it.

13. With the Mover tool, Grab your image and move it up near the top of your image background.
14. Click on the bottom layer of your Layer Pallet.
With your Draw tool put a node right under the bow knot. Put another one down further and then again down further and a little to the left like so below.

15. Click on your Object Selector Tool on the bottom left of PSP again, and then on Node Edit on the Tool Options panel or R-click over the image and choose Node Edit.
A. Rclick over the center of the three nodes and change the node to Symmetric like you did before to get the arrow handles.
B. Now grab one end and gently turn the line one way or the other for your ribbon strand.
C. Click off the image to come out of Edit.
16. Click on Copy.
17. Now Click on the bottom most layer in your Layer Pallet again.
18. Click on Edit, Paste, as New Vector Selection and paste it right over the other ribbon strand. You will only have a wavy line here to paste. Match it to your other one. Click to paste in place.
19. In the top menu Click on Image, Mirror and move it over to the right side for the other tail. Now you have your bow with tails.
Do feel free to Bevel, Burn, recolor, etc to your finished bow.
I hope you have enjoyed this little tuto.
